First light over Mullayanagiri

The morning here does not arrive so much as it seeps in. Long before the sun clears the ridge, the valley below the homes fills with a slow tide of mist, and the coffee blossom sharpens the air until it feels almost edible. We built the nine homes to face this hour. From the Nest, you watch the light find the far peaks first, then spill down the terraces in gold. From the Burrow, tucked lower into the slope, the mist stays longer, and you wake inside a cloud. There is no schedule for a morning like this. A pot of single-origin coffee, pulled from beans grown a few hundred metres from your door. A chair angled at the hills. The quiet understanding that, for once, there is nowhere you need to be. If you come between October and March, the mornings are clearest — cool, blue and unhurried. Bring a sweater. Leave the alarm off. Let the mountain wake you instead.
